Hi guys!!! As with every month, I post my new finds and obsessions that I’m hoping to get for the following month and here’s the selection for November.
I am finally settling into this fall weather, secretly praying it doesn’t get colder anytime soon. 17 degrees does it for me, thank you.
Lagos-based designer and creative director for Maki-Oh, Amaka Osakwe, has never failed to wow us with the thought processes to her collections and this one is no exception. For this collection, firstly, she draws inspiration from philosophical questions of endeavour and also the Yoruba trick called “Arodan” in which parents send their bored kids to neighbor’s homes in search of Arodan, something that doesn’t exist. A search in futility.
‘Tis the season! No, not that season… I mean the turtleneck season. At least, if you’re in colder climates. My love for turtleneck tops/sweaters go way back to university days and I remember wearing my turtleneck top with everything last winter. Skirts, pants, dungarees, you name it! I love it so!
But they don’t have to boring – there are so many cuts and fabrics to choose from. Don’t be like me, mix it up!
